Most of what we have shared in this campaign so far has been about why feedback matters and what it teaches us. This time, we want to show what that actually looks like when you follow one relationship from the first order to where it stands today.
This is the story of Denise Bates, a distributor partner at Geiger, and how a cautious first order turned into more than 600 orders in a single year.
Why She Was Looking for Someone New
Denise came to MLXL after ongoing problems with her previous vendor. Deliveries were not landing when promised. Quality was not consistent enough to count on. For a distributor managing multiple brand relationships, that kind of unpredictability is not just an inconvenience. It puts every one of those relationships at risk, because her clients hold her responsible for what shows up, not the vendor behind the scenes.
She needed a decorator she could trust. She was not ready to hand that trust over right away.
Starting Small, on Purpose
Her first orders with us were not a full commitment. They were a test. A few hundred pieces to start, ranging anywhere from single units up to 1,000 piece runs, spanning screen print, embroidery, and DTF. Small enough that if something went wrong, the damage would be limited. Large enough to actually show whether we could handle real volume and real variety.
That caution made sense. Anyone who has been burned by a vendor before has earned the right to be careful with the next one.
What Changed Her Mind
The orders came in on time. The quality held up across different methods and different run sizes. That consistency mattered, but it is not actually the part of this story we think is most important.
What mattered more was what happened when something needed adjusting. Along the way, Denise raised concerns about pricing and about delivery timing. Instead of treating those notes as complaints to smooth over, we treated them as information to act on. Pricing got revisited. Delivery timing got tightened. Her feedback did not just get heard. It changed how we handled her account going forward.
That is the part worth slowing down on. A lot of companies say they welcome feedback. Fewer actually let it change anything. The difference between those two things is usually what determines whether a first order turns into a real relationship.
From One Trial Order to a Full Partnership
This year alone, MLXL has run more than 600 orders for Denise’s brands. What started as a cautious test across a handful of products has grown into a standing part of how her business runs.
Just as telling: she has since brought us several other brand relationships beyond the original one that started this partnership. That is not something a distributor does with a vendor she is still testing. That is what happens when a vendor has proven, order after order, that raising a concern actually leads to something changing.
Why This Story Matters to Us
We do not think Denise’s experience was about us getting everything perfect from day one. It was about what happened when we did not. Every adjustment we made in response to her feedback was a small deposit of trust. On their own, none of those adjustments were dramatic. Added together, over enough orders, they were the reason a trial run turned into a full partnership across multiple brands.
That is the theme running through this whole campaign. Feedback is not just for fixing what went wrong. It is what earns a partner the right to grow with you.
If you are a distributor or broker still deciding whether MLXL is a vendor you can build something on, Denise’s story is one answer. We would rather earn that trust the same way we earned hers: order by order, and by actually doing something with what you tell us.
